The illustration above is interesting in that it has been carried out to meet a customer requirement for a Middle East Oilfield.
The technical requirements to do this include producing a 3-Dimensional (3-D) drawing which will interface with the appropriate Stress programs and defining the appropriate wind, hydrostatic and earthquake forces.
At the same time, the 3-D drawing was also used by the customer to interface directly with their site piping 3-D drawing.
Therefore, we must ensure that the software used is essentially universally compatible.
It is becoming obvious that we are in a new era where the designs must be international.
